Network Providers have been demanding a full, unshared pipe to their customers for quite some time now. Mammoth Networks has suggested clear-channel T1 services as a solution to this demand. Clear-channel T1 services are standardized and well documented. A number of vendors also support clear-channel which has resulted in the availability of used equipment as well in the market. With the clear-channel approach, Mammoth is resorting to hand the Quality of Service requirement to the network providers themselves.
Network Providers will now be able to deliver private-lines to aggregation points in around 30 cities due to the expansion of Mammoth’s services. Provisioning of clear-channel circuits to a desired aggregation point will become possible through the lower 48 states as well.
In certain areas of the country, networks have been facing limited throughput and inconsistent service due to the increased demand for more bandwidth. This in turn impacts VoIP as well as hosted services. Customers of Mammoth do not have to face this problem since there are plenty of
TDM circuits built during the early part of this decade.
Another reason is that with the emergence of Ethernet services, TDM services have started to free up. In the words of Mammoth’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Brian Worthen, “As we grew our Ethernet product, we realized that a simplified solution was something our customers were clamoring for.”
Mammoth Networks provides DS1, DS3 and OCn private-line in the contiguous lower 48 states. The company provides service providers with private-line, meet-point private-line and Network-Network Interface solutions. With the expansion of Mammoth’s services, a network provider will be able to provision T1’s in a number of locations like Bozeman, Montana and Las Cruces, New Mexico and deliver them to an aggregation point in Denver, Colorado. The company focuses on providing a private-line solution that is able to deliver the desired service at an affordable price.
