CRG West Data Center to House IDCG's Central Clearinghouse

Data center developer, manager and operator, CRG West announced on Friday that it is expanding its Chicago, Illinois customer base with the addition of International Derivatives Clearing Group (IDCG).

At the data center and peering provider’s location in downtown Chicago, IDCG has deployed the world’s first over-the-counter interest rate swap exchange.

Through its subsidiary, International Derivatives Clearinghouse, IDCG is developing a central clearinghouse which will offer a well-organized and transparent forum to clear and settle interest rate swap contracts and other fixed income derivatives contracts.

In order to be designated as a derivatives clearing organization, The International Derivatives Clearinghouse has applied to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

“Given our optimistic outlook on our growth, CRG (News - Alert) West is perfectly positioned to support that growth. The demand for low-latent connectivity necessitates a flexible robust offering to the trading community,” explained Gerry Lawlor, IDCG chief technology officer in New York, NY.

“CRG West’s offering is second-to none and we look forward to expanding that high-quality service to our own client base,” added Lawlor.

Sitting next to Chicago’s primary fiber routes, CRG West’s Chicago data center provides a low-latency environment and is SAS (News - Alert) 70-certified. The data center also offers enhanced security with 24-hour secure-site access, mantraps and biometric scanners.

The combination of abundant fiber, redundant AC UPS power and 24-hour remote hands services made CRG West a perfect fit for this new venture.

“CRG West is honored to have been chosen to host such a ground-breaking effort in the financial world,” said Kevin Knight, CRG West vice president in Chicago, Illinois. “This demonstrates the dynamic offering CRG West has in Chicago, providing organizations such as IDCG with an environment perfect for financial exchanges, helping to ensure future growth and success.”

Established in 2001, CRG West provides wholesale data center and retail colocation space, connectivity services, remote hands support and an Internet peering exchange, the Any2 Exchange. Now with eleven data center locations, the company manages carrier-neutral data centers in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Northern Virginia, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington D.C. CRG West provides data center and peering opportunities to Fortune 500 companies and over 500 of the world’s leading networks, enterprises and universities.
