Lufthansa Systems, an IT provider for the airline and aviation industry, has signed global services contract with Orange Business Services (

The Germany based Lufthansa Systems that offers solution covering all airline business processes was looking for a service provider for the introduction of next-generation IT equipment at worldwide locations of its key accounts-Lufthansa German Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo, and Orange with its global reach was found to be the best choice.
“Throughout the entire project, Orange Business Services was always able to react very flexibly to ongoing changes,” said Hannes Pfister, senior vice president Infrastructure Services at Lufthansa Systems.
“Orange Business Services had already demonstrated a very good performance in previous projects. Having seen the first phases of implementations, we are very pleased with the performance of Orange Business Services so far.”
The 42-month contract that covers maintenance of the IT infrastructure in more than 100 countries consists of the deployment of standardized IT infrastructure with customized services and processes with onsite support as well as logistics for nearly 20,000 units of IT equipment.
As part of the contract Orange Business Services’ would provide onsite support of the entire IT equipment that will be rolled out at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo worldwide.
Faulty or broken units have to be repaired or exchanged within a stringent time frame in order to support business critical IT systems, such as ticket and boarding pass printers.
“This landmark service contract strengthens our position as an integrated service provider showing above market growth in all domains of network related services such as IPT, telepresence or IT services while preserving momentum in our core networking business,” said Helmut Reisinger, senior vice president of Orange Business Services in Europe.
