Orange, Medic4all Team Launches Cellular Tele-Health Service

Orange Romania, a France Telecom (News - Alert) Group company, has partnered with Medic4all to introduce a new cellular e-health service called Medi4you.

A team of doctors from Medic4you helps Orange clients by gathering their medical information and prescribing drugs and consultations. The service is compatible with 18 different languages.

“Health is the fundamental value of the quality of life, which is why, Orange and Medic4all are launching together the Medic4you service in Romania,” said Christos Phocas, manager of corporate fixed data service development at Orange Romania (News - Alert), in a statement.

Orange and Medic4all are also teaming to offer a WristClinic health monitoring device that automatically measures blood pressure, pulse, ECG, body temperature, cardiac rhythm, level of oxygen saturation, and other medical parameters.

The WristClinic device will send test results via Bluetooth to the Orange mobile telephone through its connectivity to Medic4You's medical consultants.

“Trying to make a connection with medicine, I would say that the Internet is the heart of our civilisation and telecommunications is the central nervous system,” Phocas said. “By launching e-health services in Romania, Orange is taking a step forward in offering its clients innovative integrated services of the new digital era. Medic4you becomes an added tool to classic medical services, now available through the Orange data network covering more than 400 localities in Romaniak.”

Medic4all develops and offers telemedicine services, supported by biomedical technologies developed at the Group R&S center.

Medic4all ensures that its services support an individual’s “medical life,” from medical data collection to health status monitoring. This means it is possible to meaningfully act on preventive measures rather than holding off until emergencies.

This new service will connect more than four million users with upwards of 11,000 health professionals, supporting wellness and disease prevention, and providing health support for patients suffering from diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and malignant tumours, or coronary diseases.
