Influential Managers at Enterprises, SMBs, Government Agencies Rely on IT.TMCnet.com

(Norwalk, CT — October 28, 2008) According to a recent survey, the vast majority of visitors to Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC (News - Alert)) newest Web site, InfoTech.TMCnet.com, are influential, senior level managers at enterprises, small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and government agencies.
 
Found online at http://it.tmcnet.com, this site carries hundreds of stories daily about developments in information technology, in addition to blogs by experts, white papers, Webinars, videos and podcasts.
 
Enterprises, SMBs and government agencies employ 57 percent of IT.TMCnet.com visitors. Resellers, VARs, VADs and consultants comprise 17 percent. Only six percent are in hardware manufacturing; eight percent are telecom or Internet service providers; and the remaining 12 percent are software developers.
 
The survey, conducted this month, also indicated that the majority of visitors, 73 percent, have buying power for IT products, services and applications. More than 27 percent approve purchases, 32 percent recommend products and services, and 14 percent determine needs.
 
This purchasing authority mirrors the professional seniority of visitors to IT.TMCnet.com. IT management (CTO, CIO, CSO, VP, systems integrator and tech consultant) comprised 42 percent of survey respondents. Another 11 percent are IT staff. Senior business management (owner, CEO, COO, president, VP and general manager) accounted for 19 percent of visitors surveyed.
 
Just over half, 51 percent, of respondents are employed by companies with over $100 million in revenues in 2007, with 25 percent working for companies with over $1 billion in revenues. Employees of companies with revenues in the range of $500 to $999 million accounted for 15 percent of those surveyed. Another 11 percent work for companies with revenues in the range of $100 to $499 million.
 
Survey respondents represent businesses around the globe. While 52.4 percent are located in the United States and Canada, 4.2 percent are in Latin and South America, 16.1 percent are in Europe and the Middle East, and the remaining 27.3 percent are in Asia, Australia and Africa.
