AMD Intros HD Graphics Card for Enhanced Game Play

AMD (News - Alert), a company developing the next generation of computing and graphics solutions, has announced its new offering, the ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics card. Priced at less than $150, the graphics card presents gamers with even more affordable access to award-winning ATI Radeon HD 4800 series performance.

The new offering supports the latest DirectX 10.1 games soon to be released for the holiday season, and delivers class-leading game performance and superior HD multimedia capabilities like other ATI Radeon HD 4800 series products.

The ATI Radeon HD 4830 requires an HD monitor for leveraging complete set of benefits, and enables users to enjoy even the most intimidating games that were previously unplayable on a graphics card selling for less than $150. The games can be played at various frame rates, even when using image enhancements such as anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

The card supports ATI CrossFireX technology allowing gamers to combine as many as four cards in one PC. ATI CrossFireX Technology requires an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and may require a specialized power supply.

Apart from its advanced gaming features, the ATI Radeon HD 4830 offers exceptional HD multimedia performance as well. Users can enjoy HD digital content with uncompromising visual fidelity while helping to enhance the definition and clarity of lower resolution visual media.

To ensure smooth HD video playback, and sharp, crisp images and vibrant colors through ATI Avivo HD technology, AMD has deployed its second generation Unified Video Decoder (UVD 2.0) in the card.

Also, it offers a number of additional capabilities like picture-in-picture, and support for the latest HD audio technologies like 7.1 surround sound to serve up an impressive cinema-quality home entertainment experience.

Around a dozen add-in-board companies offering custom designs of the products are providing support to the ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics card. These companies include ASUS, Club 3D, Diamond Multimedia, Force3D, GECUBE, GIGABYTE, HIS (Hightech Information Systems), Jetway, MSI (News - Alert), Palit Multimedia, PowerColor, SAPPHIRE Technology and VisionTek etc.

Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager of Graphics Products Group at AMD, said that the ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics card is another example of how AMD’s scalable design strategy is paying off.
