Apptis, provider of IT and communications services, landed a five-year, $22 million contract from the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), and Project Directorate (PD) for the Reserve Component Automation System/Distributive Training Technology Project (RCAS/DTTP).
Apptis has partnered with Bearing Point for this project and both the companies will provide an on-going IT program and project management advisory services for the client. Their support will ensure the execution, administration and management of day-to-day operations run out of the Army’s Program Executive Office.
According to companies’ sources, RCAS and DTTP systems deliver the critical infrastructure and software applications needed for the mobilization and deployment of Army National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers. The RCAS/DTTP project aims to both sustain and enhance the Army Reserve Component’s ability to achieve interoperability for mobilization planning, training and communications.
"Apptis is honored to be working with the Army Reserve and Army National Guard on this project, as it enables them to leverage their previous experience and strengthen their commitment to providing the best services and support for the US military," noted Skip Nowland, president and general manager, Defense & National Security Sector of Apptis.
The company realizes that they are not just providing critical IT oversight, but also vital IT support necessary to the safety and success of their armed forces – both in training and on the front lines.
Task Order Manager for Apptis, Katie McAuliffe explained that the RCAS and DTTP systems are mission-critical components to ensuring soldier readiness to re-join the Army in the field. Through this agreement Apptis is able to step up and provide the services necessary to keep the systems functioning - just as the men and women in the US Army Reserve Component do in carrying out their commitment to serve and keep their country safe.
