U.S. Army Awards DataPath $4.8 Million orders

The U.S. Army has awarded DataPath (News - Alert) a two delivery orders worth $4.8 million.

The orders are for spare electronics and other equipment used to operate and maintain hundreds of DataPath Satellite Transportable Terminals (STTs).

DataPath STTs are the satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals deployed to deliver high-bandwidth communications capabilities at forward-operating locations as part of the U.S. Army's Joint Network Node (JNN)/ Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) program.

"DataPath works closely with the U.S. Army to provide satellite terminals, spares and upgrade kits, software and on-site field support services for its critical networks," said Steve Lindeman, vice president of business operations at DataPath, in a statement.

"With rapid production capabilities and experience deploying and servicing JNN/WIN-T and other key networks, our manufacturing and services teams provide exceptional support to ensure these systems incorporate the latest technology and operate reliably on the battlefield."

DataPathis a global player in creating satellite-based network solutions that solve customers' toughest communications challenges. The company specializes in enabling highly complex, video-intensive communications networks that are critical to the operations of military, civilian government and commercial organizations.

DataPath has built and delivered more than 800 STTs as well as provided Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks (UHSTs), software and extensive services for the JNN/WIN-T program since 2004.

Program Manager WIN-T's Commercial SATCOM Terminal Program (CSTP) at the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J., made the award through the CSTP Blanket Purchase Agreement contract.

DataPath earlier this month had announced that it has received a $3.7 million order to provide on-site personnel to operate and maintain satellite communications (SATCOM) systems managed by the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) in the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area of operations.

The agreement, which exercises options on an existing delivery order, will fund more than 30 DataPath technical personnel in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan over the next 12 months to support U.S. military battlefield communications systems, including Deployable Ku Band Earth Terminals (DKETs) built by DataPath.

Since August 2007, DataPath has received approximately $24 million in funding for services under this delivery order.
