Information Technology -Pro Softnet: Online Backup Business Growing

Pro Softnet Corporation, a provider of storage and online backup, reportedly has made an announcement regarding the growth prospects of its IDrive online backup.

The company also announced that as a result of that growth, its subscriber base increased three times within the first ninth months of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007.

The company has seen rapid adoption of online backup among consumers and small business, and has expanded floor space at existing data centers, according to Kushagra Bhatia, infrastructure manager at Pro Softnet Corporation. The company now hosts multiple petabytes of online backup data, he said.

“Data is hosted in world-class Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 certified data centers,” Bhatia said. “These world-class facilities are custom designed with raised floors, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, temperature control systems with separate cooling zones and seismically braced racks. They offer the widest range of physical security features, including state-of-the-art smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, (around-the-clock) secured access, video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.”

The IDrive online backup has many advantages to offer users and claims to be secure, reliable, simple, fast and affordable. The online backup is also available in versions that are compatible with Mac in basic and pro form to be used by consumers and businesses respectively.

“The response to our Version 3 release has been tremendous,” said Shweta Sachdeva, chief operating officer, Pro Softnet Corporation. “It enhances the user experience by improving the performance and usability. Early adopters of the new version have been impressed by the richness and the ease of use of the interface.”

The IDrive online backup has also received many commendations from various online media publications such as PCPro that rated the IDrive online backup service to be one of the top performing backups. The IDrive online backup shared this spot with one of its competitors, beating EMC (News - Alert), according to the review.
