Enterprises Now Connected With Online Learning and Collaboration Innovations

Saba Software (News - Alert), Inc., a management software and services provider, announced the latest version of its Web conferencing and collaboration solution, Saba Centra 7.6 SP1 is now available. This latest release supports the needs of large enterprises, making it easier to access, capture, and share information anytime with RSS feeds and one-click knowledge capture and furthers real-time learning with enhanced evaluation and learning event administration.
 
RSS references to Rich Site Summary or the previous version called RDF Site Summary. It is an XML-based format that can be used in different ways for content distribution. Its most widespread usage is in distributing news headlines on the Web.

New Features in Saba Centra 7.6 SP1 Include:
 
  • RSS feeds - Every published session can easily be designated as part of an RSS feed, making distribution and subscription of information part of everyday work processes.
  • Seamless Knowledge Transfer to Saba Enterprise - makes it easy to publish and share information to accelerate informal learning. Recordings can now be published with just one click to the Saba Knowledge Base (News - Alert) from any recording flow, including from the Saba Centra recording studio. Once in the Saba Knowledge Base, knowledge assets can be incorporated into a wide variety of online and blended learning programs, providing constant access to subject-matter expert knowledge for course designers and learning content managers.
  • Meeting and Classroom Enhancements - optimizes the virtual classroom, web seminar and meeting experience with new evaluation enhancements including improved scoring and weighting capabilities and out of the box reports, improved agenda import capabilities, and improved support for collaborative breakout rooms that encourage attendee involvement and interaction.
  • Batch Tool and Batch Edit updates - supports end-to-end event planning and simplifies administration with the ability to easily enroll groups in an event, add events, remove events and add users as well as designate their role.
  • ADA 508 Enhancements - provides greater access to all participants with audible alerts, text-message notifications, text chat history, media panel content identification, screen reader support in playback mode and closed captioning.
  • Usability Enhancements - improves meeting effectiveness with features that include real-time markup over animated slides; studio recordings and enhanced Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook scheduler; and an improved event wizard that streamlines the event registration process.
  • Enhanced Platform and Browser Support - meets the ongoing needs of enterprise customers with multiple platform updates, including support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Oracle 10g and Apple (News - Alert) Macintosh OS 10.5. Saba Centra 7.6 SP1 also includes updated support for recent versions of Firefox and Safari browsers. Saba Centra is built for the enterprise and has an advanced architecture that is secure, scalable and reliable.
 
These new features are available now in Saba Centra 7.6 SP1 OnDemand or on premise.
