Bourns Intros New SinglFuse Series of Thin Film Chip Fuses

Bourns, a manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, has launched its SinglFuse SF Series of thin film chip fuses.

 

Available in three surface mountable footprint sizes, the new line provides highly reliable overcurrent protection. Two series are available in each size, covering the fusing types of fast-acting and slow-blow.

 

A line of thin film chip fuses are included in the new SinglFuse series, which expands Bourns' comprehensive circuit protection portfolio. These fuses are RoHS compliant and halogen free, and can be deployed in applications such as LCD monitors, digital cameras, cell phones, industrial controllers and rechargeable battery packs.

 

These Single-use thin film chip fuses allow a physical break in the circuit if a short circuit arises, eliminating the need for a circuit reset, and have been specifically designed for applications which require one-time acting fuses.

 

The SinglFuse products offered by the company adopt a thin film design, which ensures high precision for specific fusing characteristics. These fuses provide protection against overcurrent events and feature current ratings ranging from 500 m amps to 7 amps.

 

Bourns' customers can order customized thin film chip fuses to meet their specific product needs, based upon the thin film design adopted by the company.

 

Brian Ahearne, technical marketing manager at Bourns said that with the introduction of the new SinglFuse line, the company is able to satisfy growing customer demand for a broader range of circuit protection solutions that meet specific standards requirements and solve application challenges.

 

Ahearne noted that Bourns' customers benefit from the industry's broadest line of circuit protection products backed by years of collective application expertise and support.

 

The SinglFuse SF Series product line is available now in production quantities, and the new thin film chip fuses are being offered in minimum quantities of 5000, at a price ranging between $0.32 and $0.38.
