Wipro and Oracle Agree to Co-Develop New Process Integration Packs

Wipro Technologies (News - Alert), the IT services division of Wipro Limited, and Oracle decided to co-develop and jointly market Process Integration Packs (PIPs) built on Oracle Application Integration Architecture (AIA) for Communications, according to Wipro.

Oracle (News - Alert) Process Integration Packs deliver prepackaged, end-to-end business process integrations across Oracle applications. These process integrations enable service-oriented applications, from business processes to common objects and services to service oriented architecture (SOA) governance, at greatly reduced cost.

Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture, based on Oracleâ Fusion Middleware, delivers pre-built, extensible, mission-critical composite business processes across Oracle Communications applications including Oracle’s Siebel customer relations management (CRM), Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment Suite, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Communications Service Delivery, as well as third-party and legacy applications, the company said.

The new PIPs enable service providers to bring services to market more quickly, identify revenue streams through enhanced data analysis, and capitalize on new opportunities by rapidly adapting streamlined business processes, a media statement from the company said.

Commerce service providers (CSPs) today are increasingly focused on improving customer-centricity by launching new and differentiated service offerings and reducing operational costs. All of these services require a new, more flexible IT approach.

Oracle’s PIPs are pre-built products which provide sustainable integrations across Oracle applications and enable rapid implementation of a business process while reducing the cost and burden of integration. These process integrations can be easily extended and evolved allowing service providers to respond to customer and market requirements with greater agility and flexibility.

As per the agreement between the two companies, Wipro, a leading firm providing IT solutions and services for the corporate segment in India, will provide design, development and quality-assurance support to assist Oracle in developing and productizing AIA-based integrations for core operational processes in the communications industry. Additionally, Wipro will provide core development support and also will participate in joint go-to-market efforts with Oracle around these solutions.

“The co-development initiative underscores Wipro’s thought leadership in Oracle applications-based services practice worldwide and will add new dimensions to our already very strong relationship with Oracle,” said Sangita Singh, senior vice president and head Enterprise Application Services, Wipro Technologies, in a statement.
