Cucku Intros Latest Version of Social Backup

In a bid to make backing up data on a computer easier than ever before, Cucku has announced version 1.20 of its Cucku Social Backup software.

The new offering is an ideal alternative to hosted and local backup includes backup speeds up to 58% faster than their first beta version.

Cucku Social Backup relies on a partner approach for encrypting files and backing them up on a friend or family member’s computer and does not require users to purchase an expensive hosted backup service.

Backing up data on a computer has always been an important task. But many computer users simply ignore this task, even though the digital photos, music, email, financial statements and other personal files on our computers are priceless and often irreplaceable.

For this reason it is vital that everyone take steps to safeguard that information as hard drive failure, laptop theft, hackers and viruses can erase this data in a flash.

Now, companies such as Cucku have made this task much easier for all users to do as it combines local and remote backup for complete protection in a single product.

Apart from important performance enhancements to streamline the backup and restore processes, changes have also been made to this latest version to further simplify the user experience.

“Cucku Social Backup puts a new twist on the age-old chore of backing up,” said Laura DuBois, storage software research director at IDC (News - Alert). “With Cucku, people enjoy the peace of mind of backing up their data at a remote location, with the added benefit of knowing exactly where their backup resides, and who is looking after it. Cucku brings an element of social connection to the backup process that is difficult to match by traditional hosted backup providers.”
