Telligent Unveils New Enterprise 2.0 Platform for Social Computing

Telligent, a Dallas-based company delivering social computing capabilities, has launched Community Server Evolution, an Enterprise 2.0 platform that helps organizations communicate and collaborate more effectively by tapping the power of social computing and Web 2.0 behind firewalls.

Telligent's newest offering helps global organizations retain, recall, and share corporate intelligence by providing intranet users with a rich set of social computing applications. Enterprise customers now have a single platform that empowers users to generate content, share knowledge, and manage relationships and connections in real time.

"The release of Community Server Evolution is a big win not only for Telligent, but for our clients as well," said Rob Howard, CEO at Telligent, in a statement. "With our new Enterprise 2.0 technology, we're taking communities of collaboration one step further and helping organizations cut development and operational costs."

Community Server Evolution offers an extensive set of professional networking tools: rich user profiles that surface individual experience and activity, groups that create communities of interest and effective project teams, blogs for quick and easy content publishing, wikis for iterative content publishing and collaboration, media and file galleries for data management and accessibility, and more.

Evolution integrates with existing Microsoft (News - Alert) technology environments to immediately maximize investment in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Active Directory, and Exchange.

"We are excited about the rich collaboration capabilities being made available through Telligent's Community Server Evolution. We believe it will ultimately provide greater collaboration within our user community," said Mark Richardson, director of the business innovations group at Scotiabank.
