SANYO Launches New HD 1080p LCD Projector

SANYO, a provider of environment, energy and digital lifestyle applications — including LCD and DLP projectors — is now offering its new PLV-Z3000, a super-fast 120Hz Full HD 1080p LCD projector featuring ultra-high contrast ratio of (65,000:1), an advanced lens shifting function, quiet fan system, and a 3D color management system.

The new PLV-Z3000 replaces the popular PLV-Z2000 by SANYO, and is the industry's first LCD projector to introduce 5:5 pull down, for the most frame accurate delivery of all source material.

The projector deploys SANYO's proprietary TopazReal HD technology, a 3D color management system that address changes in color phase and color level to obtain perfect color reproduction, producing 1110 times more color combinations than 720p projectors, approximately 216 billion color combinations.

This new color management system includes 14-bit digital processing and the real-focus HD lens system, and had been designed to optimize the potential of Deep Color via the projector's two HDMI 1.3 inputs.

The PLV-Z3000 doubles the frame rate from 60 fps to 120 fps using interpolation frame generation technology, and features 'Dynamic Predictive Frame Interpolation Technology' that utilizes speeds of 120Hz to increase the smoothness in video reproduction, even for scenes with extreme motion.

The interpolation technology improves overall resolution and eliminates motion artifacts by predicting the motion differences between frames and generating five interpolated images to fill the gaps. It also provides accurate reproduction of 24 fps source material, particularly from HD television broadcasts, allowing the look and feel of movie theater-quality from everyday broadcast programming.

The PLV-Z3000 introduces SANYO's new optical engine that incorporates an additional optical compensating plate to minimize polarized light leakage, which increases contrast ratio. The projector, rated at 1200 ANSI lumens, offers 65,000:1 contrast ratio for superlative black levels and jet-black color reproduction, especially when ambient light is present.

The new projector by SANYO creates a large screen image in any size room and from virtually any location deploying its short throw capability and 2x zoom, coupled with an advanced lens shifting function. The lens shifting function allows wide-range vertical shifting to three screen sizes and horizontal shifting to two screen sizes.

Being able to project a 100-inch diagonal image from 10 to 20 feet away, the PLV-Z3000 is suitable for average size home theaters.
