Zenprise Releases MobileManager v4.0 for BlackBerry

Zenprise (News - Alert), Inc., specializing in mobile service management introduces Zenprise MobileManager v4.0. This release automatically monitors, troubleshoots and manages end-user issues in BlackBerry Enterprise Sever (BES) environments.

Organizations running Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange Sever 2007 and Windows Server 2008 Active Directory can get a view of the BlackBerry messaging environment. It also provides native support of Windows Server 2003 x64. This 64-bit architecture enables Zenprise to offer optimum performance for customers increasing their BlackBerry (News - Alert) deployments.

“With Zenprise, we are able to automate the troubleshooting of BlackBerry problems,” said Geoff Rinella, email administrator, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. “The software doesn’t just monitor the BlackBerry Enterprise Server; it monitors the health of the entire BlackBerry service, including the Exchange environment. MobileManager 4.0 has enabled us to expand this monitoring and troubleshooting coverage for Exchange 2007.”

Ahmed Datoo, Zenprise vice president of marketing, pointed out that managing a company’s BlackBerry messaging environment is expensive and complicated, needing latest tools for automating mobile service management. Zenprise’s MobileManager 4.0 provides IT administrators with the ability to automatically troubleshoot BlackBerry service problems.

Zenprise checks wireless network availability and monitors the BlackBerry Enterprise Server environment. It also checks on Active Directory health, BlackBerry SRP availability, carrier availability, WAN/LAN network performance, and overall Microsoft Exchange server health. It finds the root cause of user issues and offers detailed resolution instructions for fixing of such problems.

Zenprise 4.0 includes features for troubleshooting problems in the broader BES environment. The BlackBerry monitoring service includes the ability to manage issues pertaining to availability and performance on Microsoft Exchange server 2007 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 important for the BlackBerry service.

Active Directory groups can map to VIP dashboards. These auto populate based on users in the AD group. The role-based permissions like Help Desk view, Operator view, Administrator view are mapped to security roles in Active Directory.

ZenPro automates the several workflows, running diagnostic tests to find the reasons which give rise to mobile service problems. Five hundred new troubleshooting workflows have been added to the product taking the total to 6,500. The Zenprise software proactively troubleshoots issues across the BlackBerry environments unlike pure monitoring solutions as it identifies the root cause of a problem and helps resolve it.
