RMI to extend Market Reach for its Multi-Core Multi-Thread Processors


RMI Corporation providing Processor (News - Alert) Solutions for networking, communications and media rich applications announced that Steve Longaria will join the company as vice president of Worldwide Sales. He will be instrumental in extending the global market reach of the company’s multi-core multi-thread processors.

RMI products use advanced processor technology which are high on performance and integration. They are in demand with system and original equipment manufacturers who cater to the infrastructure, enterprise and consumer markets. The company’s XLR, XLS and RMI Alchemy family of processors are manufactured based on innovative MIPS-compatible architectures. These enable the creation of advanced, highly-integrated designs which are built on leading-edge silicon process technologies.
 
RMI Corporation is essentially a fables semiconductor company which provides High-Performance Super System-on-a-chip (SuperSoC) Processor solutions suitable for the Infrastructure, Enterprise and Consumer Media markets.
 
The solutions find applications in the Wireless, Networking Security, Thin Clients and Connected Multi-Media. RMI also supplies a broad platform of advanced MIPS-compatible processing solutions using 32 and 64 bit architectures supporting frequencies ranging from 300 MHz to 1.2 GHz.
 
Longaria was with IBM (News - Alert) Microelectronics Inc. previously, serving the company as vice president, semiconductor solutions. Another new appointment is that of Paula Ewanich who has joined RMI as vice president, human resources.

Longaria has experience in the fields of sales, engineering and management. He has served customers in the security, storage and consumer markets. In IBM he was responsible for external semiconductor business, targeting infrastructure and consumer markets.
