SAS and Vision Systems Enter Technology Partnership

Systems Advisory Services (SAS) announced that it has entered into a technology partnership with Vision Solutions, IBM’s (News - Alert) largest high availability Premier Business Partner Worldwide.

Vision protects critical businesses information continuously. Its products are affordable and easy to use and they ensure business continuity, increased productivity, and satisfy compliance requirements. Vision also offers advanced cluster management and systems management solutions, and support for i, Windows, and AIX operating environments.

SAS (News - Alert) is an IBM Power Systems Business Partner and is a provider of outcome-based solutions. SAS has entered this partnership to provide the best possible protection for applications and information for customers using the IBM Power Systems platforms.

“Vision Solutions’ innovative technologies add value in the areas of infrastructure management and business continuity/high availability, reducing staffing requirements and risks associated with system outages,” said SAS Chief Executive Officer, Phil Martin.

“We are excited about this partnership, as we already have a number of customers using Vision products and have been impressed by the sophistication and capabilities that the Vision products deliver. For SAS, it was a natural progression to move to a formal reseller status to ensure that we could provide additional support to our customer base, and also take these solutions to the wider market,” added Martin.

SAS will be recommending different Vision products to its customers like iTERA HA, ORION, Director and EchoStream. These solutions are powerful technologies capable of increasing the resiliency and recoverability of data. A business using such solutions will be able to recover rapidly from any disaster without loss of data.

Companies will be able to do daily backups and saves without operational downtime and also recover data in case of it getting cleared or corrupted. SAS will also offer hosting services besides providing systems integration capabilities for interested customers.

“Users of comprehensive business systems, especially in a world where e-commerce has the capability of generating revenue 24 hours a day, seven days a week, realize their successful business operations are highly driven by the on-demand availability of the information and data they contain,” said Vision Solutions’ Vice President of Sales, Allan Campbell.

“Disruptions caused by natural disasters or man made ones, as well as planned downtime for backups or system maintenance can have a devastating and perhaps permanent effect on an organization’s ability to conduct business. For many companies, exposure to potential downtime is unacceptable. Vision Solutions’ business resiliency technologies have been built to address this need,” Campbell explained.

New Zealand-based SAS specializes in the delivery of mission critical IT systems. SAS provides managed IT services and renders its expertise in the development and systems/application integration.
