Information Technology -VimpelCom Picks Mobixell Networks Solution to Power Content Services

Russa-based VimpelCom has selected a solution from Mobixell (News - Alert) Networks to power and centralize management of its multimedia content services.

Mobixell's mobile multimedia adaptation solutions provide automated content production for off-line, on-line and “time sensitive” environments including content download, browsing the operator's portal and A2P MMS push services.

Aleksey Lobanov, senior project manager at VimpelCom, said his company is continuously looking to offer customers the latest multimedia based services.

“We chose Mobixell because we wanted a proven solution that could support our service delivery platform, and offer our users an optimal experience for all multimedia services,” Lobanov said.

He added said that his company believes this enhanced service will result in additional mobile data usage and increased user satisfaction.

Mobixell’s solutions cover the mobile content production flow, “generating better time to market, increasing the amount of mobile content offered to end users, and ensuring the high quality of content,” the company said in its announcement.

“We are pleased that Vimpelcom (News - Alert), the leading mobile operator has chosen Mobixell to meet their multimedia adaptation and delivery requirements,” said Avichai Levy, senior vice president of marketing at Mobixell Networks.

Pointing out that the mobile industry constantly offers new services to their subscribers that are based on rich media, Levy added: “Mobixell's solution ensures that these services will be immediately available to everyone and deliver the best user experience, regardless of network or handset.”

Earlier this month, Mobixell Networks announced that it has received a total of $6 million in funding from existing investors Apax, Intel Capital (News - Alert) and smac partners. This investment round offers Mobixell additional resources to expand the development and marketing of its mobile multimedia, mobile TV and advertising solutions.
