Logica Wins Three-Year Contract with Michelin

The European IT and business services company Logica today announced that it has won a three year contract – which has an option of being renewed for an additional three years – with global tire manufacturer Michelin.

Clermont-Ferrand, France-based Michelin is a manufacturer and marketer of tires for every type of vehicle, including airplanes, automobiles, bicycles/motorcycles, earthmovers, farm equipment, trucks and the U.S. space shuttle.

As per the agreement between the companies, Logica will be Michelin’s applications services partner for its finance and purchase reporting group, supply chain management, marketing and sales (customer relationship management), as well as demand to cash domains across Europe and North America.

The contract also includes consulting services and systems implementation. Logica officials said that this agreement tends to develop and deploy integrated solutions across the entire group, delivering “operating efficiency and flexible information systems.”

The contract expects to draw on Logica’s blended delivery model which allocates the “optimal” IT resources from across Logica’s service centers in the world.

Andy Green, CEO at Logica, said, “I am delighted that Michelin has chosen Logica to be its strategic partner for applications management in one of the most significant contract awards in Europe this year.”

He also said that this is a transformational win for Logica, which clearly demonstrates the company’s ability to combine close European customer relationships with consistent global delivery to deliver real business value for the customers.

“This win demonstrates our thorough understanding of Michelin’s business, helping it to transform its IT estate. This project demonstrates our ability to support our multinational European clients in their complex international projects,” added Patrick Guimbal, chairman at Logica France.

Logica provides business consulting, systems integration, and IT and business process outsourcing services. Recently, Open Text Corporation, a company offering Enterprise Content Management (ECM), announced that it has formed a partnership with Logica to jointly offer ECM solutions across Europe.
