RMI Corporation Inks Patnership Agreement with Huawei-Symantec

RMI Corporation, a provider of high performance processor solutions for networking, communications and media rich applications, has just signed a strategic partnership agreement with Huawei-Symantec (News - Alert), the company which develops security and storage appliances.

 

As per the terms of this partnership agreement, RMI’s multi-core multi-threaded processors will be used for the Huawei (News - Alert)-Symantec’s storage and security appliances, including the USG9000 and the USG6000.

 

This partnership agreement was announcement at a press conference in Beijing, China which highlighted the significance of the joint venture and its successful development activities along with the world-class R&D efforts between Huawei-Symantec and RMI that aims to deliver the unified security gateway device.

 

Huawei-Symantec is a joint venture company formed in May 2007, between Huawei Technologies, a provider of next-generation telecommunications network solutions, and Symantec, the company which delivers infrastructure software that address risks to security, availability, compliance and performance.

 

Huawei-Symantec has also announced the release of the joint venture’s first unified security gateway device providing industry leading performance.

 

Su Li-Qing, president of Huawei-Symantec joint venture, mentioned this partnership as a decision towards success supported by RMI’s advanced technical capabilities.
