Vianix MASC Technology Licensed by Creative Switching Designs

The technology company, Vianix (News - Alert), recently made an announcement of its completion of the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) License Agreement with Creative Switching Designs (CSD), a provider of Enterprise VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephony products.
  


Based in Houston, CSD provides call recording solutions to an estimated market, valued at $3 billion. It selected Vianix’ MASC (Managed Audio Sound Compression) technology to serve this market.


Headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Vianix was created by iMPAQ Corporation, a computer network and IT (Information Technology) integrator. It has partnered with designers, manufacturers and distributors in its effort to provide customers with innovative consumer electronic technology available.


The MASC technology is a speech compression algorithm suite, providing users with memory-efficient and high-quality voice compression. The adoption of the MASC technology provides CSD with the power to retain high performance while managing voice file bandwidth and storage requirements.


“Creative Switching Designs recognized a need for a different approach to call recording in order to meet the needs of their customers and MASC was the perfect enabler for that solution," commented Don Buer, Vianix vice president of product management and licensing.


Its ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) based wordspotting is what gives CSD an added advantage over other approaches. This replaces keypad entry for telephone voice menus with voice recognition and Speech Analytics which analyzes speech to extract useful information about the speech content or the speakers.

"MASC will be the best solution for the Alliance Recording System. It is easy to implement and I feel it was the perfect solution," commented Lee Slocum, vice president of Creative Switching Designs.


By identifying the market need for a capable voice recording solution, CSD has created voice logging equipment, the Alliance Digital Recording System. The Alliance Digital Recording System equips recorders with features that are applicable and advantageous to a variety of applications. It aims to be a cost friendly and user friendly solution fulfilling the needs for emergency communications, financial transactions, legal compliance and dispute resolution. 


"With Creative Switching Design's selection of MASC technology for their Alliance call recording system, Vianix has demonstrated the value of MASC to the rapidly growing call recording and Speech Analytics markets,” stated Buer.
