The Los Angeles Business Journal has named DataDirect Networks (DDN) as one of the 100 fastest-growing private companies in the Los Angeles area for the second year in a row.
For DDN, the award marks the latest in a series of honors. DDN was recognized by IDC (News - Alert) as the world's largest private storage systems company and was also recently named America's fastest-growing computer company with more than $100 million in annual revenue by Inc. Magazine. For “Best HPC Storage Product or Technology,” DDN's products were also recognized as its Storage Fusion Architecture (SFA) received the HPCwire Editors' Choice Award.

Factors such as an expansion of its customer base in Big Data and Cloud Computing, product line growth, and its network of resellers which includes IBM, HP, Dell (News
- Alert) and hundreds of others in 49 countries around the world, were the main contributors to DDN's continued growth in 2011, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, the company announced the addition of Joseph L. Cowan to its Board. The Company said that Cowan currently serves as President and Chief Executive of Online Resources Corp., a provider of online banking and bill payment services to financial institutions including over one-third of the top 50 U.S. banks.
Prior to Online Resources Corp., Cowan served as CEO and a member of the Board of Interwoven Inc., a provider of content management software, through to the company's acquisition by Autonomy (News - Alert) Corp.
