RF Micro Devices Recognized as 2011's Best Supplier By Lenovo

RF Micro Devices, Inc., designer and developer of high-performance radio frequency components and compound semiconductor solutions, announced that it has been recognized with the 2011 Best Supplier Award by Lenovo Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group (MIDH) which is a subsidiary of Lenovo. The Lenovo MIDH was established for the development of mobile Internet based devices such as tablets and smartphones. The company is also responsible for the creation of devices covering various other areas such as smart TV and the digital home and devices for cloud computing. 

In a release, Bob Bruggeworth, president and CEO of RFMD, said that, "RFMD is greatly honored to receive this award from Lenovo (News - Alert) in recognition of RFMD's local product development and customer support, our record for reliable on-time delivery, and our commitment to product and technology leadership. RFMD is especially proud to support Lenovo broadly across our entire cellular product portfolio, and we look forward to expanding our relationship with Lenovo in calendar 2012 as new 2G feature phones and 3G/4G smartphones are introduced."

At present RFMD (News - Alert) produces more than ten products in huge volumes which support Lenovo MIDH. The company is expecting their business line to see significant expansion in 2012 with production of more than 20 products. This expansion is expected to begin by March 2010. Currently the products developed by RFMD for Lenovo MIDH include 2G transmit modules as well as WEDGE and WGPRS power amplifiers and transmit modules, in addition to TD-SCDMA power amplifiers and TD/EDGE multimode power amplifiers. RFMD's portfolio also includes 3G switches and 3G power amplifiers, in addition to its line of ultra-high efficiency 3G/4G power amplifiers.

The company also began shipping of multiple ultra-high efficiency 3G/4G power amplifiers which provide support to the A60 dual-SIM 3G smartphone from Lenovo in September this year.
