General Dynamics Wins the Connections II Contract

The General Services Administration has recently awarded the Connections II contract to General Dynamics (News - Alert) Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics.

Under the terms of this Connections II contract, General Dynamics will meet U.S. federal, civilian, Department of Defense and intelligence agencies' needs for unified voice and data communications solutions. 

It will also provide equipment, building and infrastructure support, as well as professional and operational services to ensure network integration for new and existing systems.

“With an increasing emphasis on data center consolidation and cloud computing, many agencies are looking at modernizing their infrastructure,” said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Health and Civilian Solutions division, in a release.

“Through this contract, General Dynamics will efficiently and effectively deliver the IT services needed to modernize and successfully establish unified and secure communications.” 

Officials said that the nine-year, three-month, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a potential value of $5 billion among all 21 industry awardees. 

The Connections II contract includes the full range of services required to modernize agency infrastructure and support next generation mobile workforce requirements, like communications and networking; building/campus facility preparation; operations, administration, and management; and customer service and technical support.

“General Dynamics is proud to continue supporting agencies' work to cost-effectively modernize and develop their enterprise communications solutions through this contract vehicle,” said Vic Bukowski, vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Government-wide Acquisition Contracts Service Center. 

In related news, General Dynamics Information Technology has recently added Email as a Service to its U.S. General Services Administration IT Schedule 70 Contract. General Dynamics said it can provide Federal agencies with cloud-based email services that deliver greater effectiveness, flexibility and lower total cost of ownership.
