iRise recently announced the launch of iRise CodeGen 2.0, which will offer a variety of new template and coding shortcut enhancements. This new software from iRise will help companies deal with ever- shorter business application development cycles. This latest release will be a part of the iRise suite of tools, which will create visual prototypes, well before a single line of code is written. The new software will create a prototype that will not only look but also act like the real thing.
The prototype can be formed, once everyone signs off on the visualization. CodeGen will then jump-start development by creating a user-interface code for the project, that will help save both time and money. After the UI code is created by CodeGen, developers will be able to engineer the remaining functionality and also integrate the new code with other pieces of the application.
In a release, Jacques Marine, EVP of Services for iRise said that, “As our customers take advantage of pre-built iRise content and iBlocs, we are seeing visualizations getting closer and closer to the desired end product. Interest in being able to generate usable code from these ultra-realistic visualizations has grown significantly. The inclusion of templates with the 2.0 version of CodeGen forms a shortcut between those creating the iRise visualizations and those who create final coded apps.”
The CodeGen Beta program was run earlier in the year and based on the feedback received, changes were made for the second release of the CodeGen product. Some of the major improvements are as follows. You can now create templates for every type of iRise interaction both visual and non-visual using names or styles to determine which code snippets are used.
You can use any iRise parameter, and the code itself can be anything you choose, making it easy to map to existing development standards. Other enhancements to the product include improved alignment with industry best practices for creating maintainable user interface code, and improved mapping for Cascading Style Sheets.
iRise will be making iRise CodeGen 2.0 available in the cloud for free for the remainder of 2011.
