SonicWALL Mobile Connect App Now Available on the Apple App Store

SonicWALL (News - Alert), a provider of intelligent network security and data protection solutions, announced that users can now acquire the SonicWALL Mobile Connect App for iOS from the Apple (News - Alert) App Store.

SonicWALL explained that SonicWALL Mobile Connect unified client app for iOS, downloaded from the App Store, lets Apple iPad, iPhone (News - Alert), and iPod touch users connect safely to work or school networks over encrypted SSL VPN connections to ensure confidentiality and data integrity for users outside the network perimeter.

The SonicWALL Mobile Connect App provides users ‘VPN on Demand’ and encrypts traffic whenever users attempt to access protected internal resources. Further capabilities are added when Mobile Connect users communicate through a SonicWALL firewall.

A single unified SSL VPN client, Mobile Connect is supported across all current SonicWALL Secure Remote Access (SRA) and SonicWALL Aventail (News - Alert) E-Class SRA, as well as SonicWALL TZ, Network Security Appliance (NSA), E-Class NSA and SuperMassive E10000 Series firewalls.

The Mobile Connect can be used over Wi-Fi inside the network to deliver secure, simple and cost-effective distributed wireless networking, and it works in combination with a SonicWALL firewall for deep packet inspection, application control and content filtering. And for Apple devices it can be installed over iOS 4.2 and higher versions.

Officials with the company commented that iPads and iPhones have become the overwhelming choice for employees who demand anytime anywhere productivity. Their Mobile Connect App lets companies extend their security policy to meet the stringent needs of enterprise, government and education institutions, while employees travel outside of the protected perimeter. This will help enable greater workforce productivity.

Mobile Connect makes it simple and straightforward for enterprises to embrace iOS platform by allowing millions of SonicWALL customers to securely access corporate networks and boost their mobile productivity even further.

In other news, looking to better secure its 20 office locations across North Dakota and Minnesota, Altru Health System has successfully deployed twoSonicWALL E-Class NSA E6500 and two NSA E5500 Next-Generation Firewalls in High Availability mode, as well as TZ Series firewalls.
