Software AG's 'Tip of the Iceberg' Holds Great Promise

As part of its ongoing plans to create a new web-based collaboration platform that will bridge the gap between traditional business process automation and business process management and the emerging social technologies, Software AG unveiled the latest solution in its cloud strategy, ‘Software AG Cloud Ready’.

Dr. Wolfram Jost, chief technology officer and member of the Executive Board, Software AG, Software AG Cloud Ready, said in a press release, “This is just the first phase of our strategy. We have more innovative solutions on the horizon to offer enhanced capabilities. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

According to the company, this innovative solution, which offers deployment flexibility with hybrid support for public cloud, private cloud and on-premise models, has been designed with a view to improve processes, reduce the time to market and reduce cost.

“Today, we introduce a new way of delivering our software that meets customers’ needs for flexible deployment by leveraging cloud computing as a utility,” said Jost in a statement.

Company officials claim that the use of certified platforms for ARIS and webMethods would enable users to run their production environments in the cloud and also benefit from them during the different phases of process transformation projects.

In addition, a new communications solution capable of making real-time data available is in the offing. This is expected to enable users to tap into their existing systems and personal activity streams and collaborate on them. Users will also be notified immediately of important business events.

The company also plans to introduce additional collaboration features to the base cloud environment that will encourage virtual teams to work together regardless of where they are. The team members can also invite others to work with them as they continue to introduce innovation into the project.

In other news, Software AG achieved a milestone in a strategic project involving process-driven IT transformation with the Kneipp Group, a German manufacturer of health products and cosmetics- Kneipp is already enjoying cost savings of up to 35 percent from the successful automation of an initial subprocess in the main Product Launch business process
