Palisade Software Development Kit Unveiled

Palisade Systems, a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions provider, announced the launch of Palisade Software Development Kit (SDK), which integrates content-aware data security and data policy enforcement capabilities for e-mail, Web monitoring, messaging gateway services, encryption, social media content, cloud services and mobile devices.

Targeting social media, cloud and mobile markets' data security, the new Palisade SDK has been developed for partners seeking to enhance the security of their solutions and deliver enhanced data security and policy enforcement for email, web, social media, the Cloud and mobile markets.

According to Palisade, the new SDK is a set of tools that allows for the integration of in-depth, proven content analysis technology into other products. Some of the tools and functionalities included in the SDK include: input, open, and extract text from files; analyze content of files; determine if any content matches critical sensitive data including PII, PFI, PHI, intellectual property, structured data, and custom policies; and produce an output file indicating the content types that were found, the number of matches, and the text that matched.

Officials with Palisade said in a statement that the company’s vendors can leverage the company’s patented and award-winning technology through this SDK to enhance their data security product offering by integrating content analysis and data policy enforcement into their solution.

In addition, vendors can as well offer proven, patented DLP technology as a valued security enhancement to their solution offerings, such as email, web monitoring, messaging gateway services, encryption, social media content, as well as into cloud services and mobile devices, with the help of Palisade SDK.

“Each day enterprises are finding their data and their very livelihood compromised by data breaches,” said Spencer Snedecor, CEO of Palisade Systems, in a statement. “Palisade offers a variety of DLP solutions and deployments options to deliver DLP when and where it is needed. Expanding our offering with an SDK enables further use of our patented data awareness and policy enforcement technologies and helps businesses secure their most critical data.”

Palisade offers content-aware DLP to OEM partners, based on their patented technology, which captures data from files and performs deep content analysis to discover sensitive and confidential data residing in the data enabling easy enforcement of data handling policies.

The content-aware DLP tools by Palisade facilitate the real-time policy enforcement based on the accurate identification and classification of content determined at the time of an operation. These DLP technologies help organizations enforce best practices concerning the handling and transmission of sensitive data, said officials with Palisade in the release.

Palisade's patented DLP product is called as PacketSure. PacketSure helps healthcare, financial, government and education organizations proactively secure sensitive and proprietary intellectual property from leaving data networks, defines and enforces access to internal network resources, and enforces compliance with federal privacy and industry security regulations such as HIPAA/HITECH, PCI (News - Alert) DSS, SOX and GLBA.
