OneFabric, which was recently announced by Enterasys, is a unified network fabric. This open and standards-based architecture will help enterprises to provide enhanced performance and security to the network from end-to-end making it suitable for business-critical applications.
Offering end-to-end networking infrastructure components to facilitate partners worldwide to enhance their portfolios, the OneFabric unified network fabric provides resellers - who typically focus on the deployment of virtualization, servers and storage - with an opportunity to expand their solution set by adding networking infrastructure components to their portfolio.
Via the global channel support for OneFabric solution, announced lately, Enterasys (News - Alert) will be providing training and tools to help distributors identify and support the right resellers to grow their business. By tightly aligning with key distribution partners worldwide, the company will provide channel customers with a consistent network environment and experience with the unified management capabilities of an end-to-end fabric.

Officials with Enterasys said that the company and its distribution partners see OneFabric as an ideal vehicle to stimulate a significant new revenue stream for existing partners. For the reason that OneFabric is ideal for resellers looking to add to their portfolio to take advantage of current megatrends like virtualization, cloud computing, and the changes that are driven by bring-your-own-device (BYOD) initiatives.
In addition, the OneFabric is also ideal for resellers serving SMBs to very large enterprises who intend to address these current trends to drive applications to mobile devices, particularly organizations that need mature technology but have few IT resources to support it.
Officials with Enterasys also said that the company is also increasing its investment in the channel and partner support by further growing its channel sales team, enhancing partner enablement through a focused onboarding process and by introducing the OneFabric training program.

In other news, Enterasys Networks has come out with Isaac. This software, running on the company’s network management suite, translates SNMP and other communications to social media language to allow for better visibility and control of the network. IT staff can then manage the corporate LAN via a social media interface, which is the way these folks typically communicate anyway.
