Wisegate Members Collaborate to Tackle Rising Data Breaches

Wisegate, a new social knowledge network for senior professionals, announced that its members are banding together to fight the rising menace of data breaches that is right now threatening consumer confidence and affecting entire industries. CISO and senior security practitioners are supposedly leveraging Wisegate for collective wisdom of peers to outsmart the bad guys.

In 2011 alone, major industry players such as RSA, IMF, Lockheed Martin (News - Alert), FBI, Sony Play Station Network and Citigroup were subjected to data hacks and trends show that 2012 would turn out to be much worse. Even large scale enterprises are finding it hard to guard themselves against consolidated breaches.

Cox (News - Alert) Communications commented that there is a strong correlation between the increase in and sophistication of security breaches and the coordination of today's hackers. Hackers are well synchronized and are stated to have done a good job of joining forces to attack the defenses that enterprises build in cyber space.

The Wisegate community makes it possible for senior security professionals to counter these attacks by better coordinating their own understanding of best practices for cyber security and sharing real-time intelligence on the current issues to defend their companies.

Officials with Wisegate asserted that they offer the perfect forum for uniting senior information security practitioners to tackle the key issues that will help keep companies one step ahead. Wisegate is a private, invitation-only, social knowledge network where members gain real insights and experiences from fellow experts in order to make tangible progress with today's toughest problems.

Wisegate added that it a took a poll recently from its community of security experts who all unanimously agreed that collaboration among infosec professionals to outsmart hackers was the preemptive measure that would have the greatest potential to reduce the frequency and scope of hacker attacks. This response came ahead of law enforcement (14 percent), tougher regulation (14 percent) and companies investing more in security technologies and talent (28 percent).

In other news, Wisegate recently opened up what it claims as the first community exclusively for qualified senior information technology (IT) professionals. This community is specially aimed to help members to team up with true peers and have knowledge transfer and also discuss about challenges, industry trends, products and personal experiences with vendors.
