New Change Monitoring Solution Increases Stability of IT Environment

Current change and configuration management tools lack the intelligent analytics required to translate change and configuration data into critical support information. Evolven is set to alter this with the introduction of a new SaaS (News - Alert) based Change Monitoring service that claims to have dramatically altered change and configuration management for the modern data center and the cloud.

Sasha Gilenson, CEO of Evolven, enumerated the capabilities of the Change Monitoring solution and said in a statement, “It will allow IT operations to know exactly what has changed in their environments, eliminate configuration drift, maintain environment consistency, validate changes, and investigate incident root-cause.”

According to the company, this new SaaS solution monitors, analyzes and delivers actionable information about the changes that have occurred in the IT environment, why they have taken place and how to reduce the risk caused by the change.

This new approach that was designed from ground up appears to be relevant in to-day's dynamic and complex IT environment, where the only constant thing is 'change'. It increases the stability of IT environments, reduces the risk of production outages, lowers operating costs, and cuts environment incident investigation time and effort.

Gilenson believed that existing configuration tools were rather rigid, too limited for collecting and analyzing comprehensive configuration information and too effort intensive to handle the complexity and dynamics of the modern data center. It was also a hindrance to achieving effective change and Configuration Management.

This was borne out by a recent survey that found 69 percent of IT professionals held the view that their current configuration management approach was ineffective for running modern data centers and the cloud.
