By NatheshCrossbeam (News - Alert) Systems, a provider of network security platforms, announced that it has expanded its lineup of X-Series network security platforms with the new X50 to cater to the increasing demands for high-performance security within mid-size data centers and branch offices.
According to Crossbeam, the X50 provides enterprise customers with a flexible 4-Slot network security platform pre-configured for one security application. The chassis can be easily expanded to increase the performance of one application, or add a second application and the X50 provides real-world application performance scalability to 20Gbps.
The X50 X50 platform comes ready to run one best-in-class security application right out of the box, and can be managed with the Crossbeam Network Management System(XMS). It comes preconfigured with all the necessary processor modules and power supplies.
The company claimed that the X-Series platforms deploy security applications from best-of-breed vendors on an open architecture that delivers the scalability, flexibility and built-in redundancy required to intelligently and reliably manage traffic as security and network demands change.
Analyst firm IDC (News - Alert) asserted that as enterprises transition their data centers to private clouds, security infrastructures must deliver new levels of flexibility, performance and scalability to accommodate these virtualized environments and secure data traffic. The X50 extends Crossbeam's high-performance security architecture to key areas of the enterprise that now demand these capabilities, positioning the company to take full advantage of the market opportunity.
Officials with the Crossbeam commented that the X50 hits the sweet spot for IT organizations looking to achieve optimal security performance and protection for mid-size data centers and branch locations, at an entry point that makes sense for the level of security and scale they require. The X50 completes the X-Series portfolio to provide options for every part of business.
In other news, according to survey results recently announced from Crossbeam Systems, IT security personnel within large corporations are shutting off critical functionality in security applications to meet network performance demands for business applications. This “security for speed” trade-off puts employees, customers, partners and other constituents at risk in order to meet business demands.
