Fiberlink Expands MaaS360 for Mobile Application Management

Fiberlink, a software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) solutions provider has expanded the MaaS360 for mobile application management. The MaaS360 AppCloud and AppExtender will now be delivering additional capabilities for enterprises to secure and accelerate the performance of their mobile applications.

According to the company, MaaS360 streamlines the configuration and device enrollment process to make life simple for IT and mobile employees. With automatic default policies for Exchange ActiveSync- and Lotus Notes Traveler-connected devices as well as iPhone, iPad, Android (News - Alert) and BlackBerry devices, IT can simply or modify an existing policy rather than creating one from scratch.

The use of mobile apps for smartphones is on the rise and this demand is forcing organizations to look for a comprehensive set of capabilities to distribute, update, manage, and secure them on both personal and corporate-owned mobile devices. Fiberlink claimed that the MaaS360 is capable of catering to the needs of IT depts.

MaaS360 has now been extended to simplify mobile application management by delivering an easy to use enterprise app catalog with full operational and security lifecycle management of apps across mobile device platforms.

The MaaS360 AppCloud is a globally optimized application distribution network that reduces network load and increases app performance for end-users, delivering maximum scalability. MaaS360 AppExtender enhances the security and operational efficiency of in-house developed mobile apps by integrating MaaS360’s cloud platform resources through an API SDK for iOS and Android devices.

The company added that MaaS360 AppCloud can provide additional layers of application and data security during the distribution process. Companies can realize cost savings from 20 to 50 percent by opting to MaaS360 rather than server implementations.

Officials with Fiberlink exclaimed that MaaS360 provides IT organizations with a comprehensive set of tools they need to build and support their growing list of mobile applications. MaaS360 AppCloud and AppExtender further simplifies the process to distribute, update, manage, and secure mobile apps on both personal and corporate-owned mobile devices.
