Bluebird Pidion BIP-6000Max Achieves AT&T Certification

SDG Systems, providing the mobile workforce with rugged, reliable, and dependable products, has announced AT&T certification for the Bluebird Pidion BIP-6000Max, which is a fully-loaded rugged mobile computer featuring data collection interfaces which include the 1D laser, 1D/2D imager and RFID.

Developed by Bluebird Soft Inc., provider of handheld mobiles, computers, scanners and RFID handhelds, the Pidion BIP-6000Max has been designed to include an 806 MHz Marvell (News - Alert) PXA320 processor, a 256MB RAM, 3.5” VGA display (readable in sunlight) as well as a numeric and/or QWERTY keypad. BIP-6000Max comprises of 802.11b/g and Bluetooth technology along with cellular communication which is AT&T (News - Alert)-certified.

In a release, Todd Blumer, president of SDG Systems, said that, “AT&T Certification on the BIP-6000Max opens it up to a wide range of applications and potential uses and increases customer confidence. The BIP-6000Max’s rugged design, GSM voice capability, and 3.5G (HSDPA) data communications make it a ideal choice for field data collection. Additionally, the Android (News - Alert) (AOSP) operating system option, implemented by SDG Systems' engineering team, extends the capabilities of the BIP-6000Max making it a unique, easy-to-use device.”

With an IP65 rating, the BIP-6000Max is MIL-STD-810F tested which further builds on its rugged capabilities. It can function on multiple Operating systems which include Windows Mobile 6.1 and Android (AOSP) 2.1. Furthermore, a new version for Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” will also be developed soon. SDG Systems provides the Defense Information Systems Agency (News - Alert) with BIP-6000Max and with Android (AOSP) 2.1 supporting application for mobile procurement.

In other news, SDG Systems recently announced the availability of the Catchwell CW30 rugged, mobile, handheld computer. Running Windows Mobile 6.5 or Windows CE 5.0, the CW30 provides industry-standard operating system environments for running a wide range of applications. The CW30 is a highly cost-effective solution for indoor and many outdoor environments. Built for light industrial usage, the CW30 is ideal for use in retail, parcel delivery, field services, warehouse and task management applications.
