Flexera Software Releases Latest FlexNet Producer Suite

Flexera Software, a provider of strategic solutions for Application Usage Management, recently unveiled the latest release of FlexNet Producer Suite with enhancements to three solutions within FlexNet Producer Suite: FlexNet Operations, FlexNet Publisher and FlexNet Embedded.

The new FlexNet Producer Suite enables software application vendors and intelligent device manufacturers (IDMs) to migrate their applications to the cloud and virtual environments. It also enables them to protect their intellectual property (IP) and ensure compliance these environments.

Mathieu Baissac, vice president of product management at Flexera Software, said, "FlexNet Producer Suite leads the industry in providing the infrastructure upon which producers can economically and confidently secure their applications for virtualization."

Security and IP protection are critical to software vendors and IDMs delivering applications to the Cloud and other virtualized environments. The latest FlexNet Producer Suite enables application producers to migrate their on-premises applications to an Amazon EC2 Cloud environment with the support of binding elements that are unique the Amazon EC2 infrastructure.

These binding elements prevent packaged software and virtual appliances from being cloned and run outside of an Amazon EC2 Cloud. This new binding capability from Flexera Software is the only Cloud licensing solution available that prevents license leakage in an Amazon EC2 environment, according to company officials.

FlexNet Producer Suite supports VMware ESXi and Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V enabling software vendors and IDMs to prevent revenue leakage for products used in virtual environments or in virtual appliances. Virtualization-aware license models allow producers configure trials to be allowed or denied in virtual environments.

FlexNet Producer Suite provides the visibility into license usage and compliance. It is the industry’s first browser-based user interface enabling license administrators to quickly monitor and control access to software licenses, according to company officials. It features a dashboard that shows statistics around license consumption and compliance throughout the enterprise.

Additionally, with full Microsoft Active Directory integration support out of the box, FlexNet Producer Suite allows administrators to easily connect and provide secure access from existing Active Directory services without writing a custom implementation or relying on unmanaged authentication services

Recently Flexera Software announced the launch of FlexNet Manager for IBM (News - Alert), which automates IBM license management, and gives enterprises essential control over their software estates, cutting down license, maintenance and audit costs for IBM desktop and server software. Moreover, it maintains continual software license compliance.
