The new release enables better business-IT integration, building on its business-driven IT management approach. While reducing costs and complexity for traditional data centers, virtualized, and cloud computing environments, IT organizations can increase efficiency and responsiveness with this release.
Available through Oracle PartnerNetwork, new and enhanced partner resources, and new management capabilities for non-Oracle components have also been introduced.
“Customers are grappling with tremendous complexity in IT centers, a condition often exacerbated by custom deployments and integrations that make each system different and unique to manage,” said Richard Sarwal, Oracle senior vice president of Product Development. “Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c provides a comprehensive solution that enables Oracle customers to cut through this complexity regardless of the choice of deployment platform. With Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, IT organizations can ease the management pains.”
Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c brings together unique management capabilities for the entire cloud lifecycle through Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, its new centralized console. It offers capabilities such as consolidation and capacity planning, self-service, testing, monitoring, and metering and chargeback.
New integrated application-to-disk management capabilities for Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle’s engineered systems have been added. Built on Oracle VM 3.0, this release also introduces new virtualization management and cloud resource management capabilities, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, Oracle announced that it was ready to provide customers with a complete customer relationship management (CRM) solution, thanks to its recent acquisition of InQuira (News - Alert). The software giant will also extend to its customer base a knowledge management offering that is designed to integrate self-service support, online customer forums and agent-assisted CRM.
The company plans to feature the combined solution at the upcoming OpenWorld event, scheduled for October 2-6, 2011 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
