Emerson Network Power Deploys Oracle Fusion Middleware for Its Trellis Program

Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power, a provider of solutions for maximizing availability, capacity, and efficiency of critical infrastructure, has deployed Oracle Fusion Middleware for its Trellis platform to simplify data infrastructure management and planning.

According to Emerson Network Power, the Trellis platform, an open architecture based Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution, is designed to increase capacity utilization by providing visibility into and control over integration and collaboration between the physical and IT infrastructure layers removing the need for guesswork that necessitates a power system capacity buffer. Delivering unprecedented insight and control to data center professionals, the Trellis platform enables smarter, faster decisions that maximize data center availability, efficiency, and capacity.

According to Oracle (News - Alert), the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g's hot-pluggable architecture allows one to make the most of their current investments in applications and technology, while also taking advantage of modern hardware and software architectures. The Trellis platform supposedly manages multiple applications and with the middleware it gets to utilize a common language to enable continuous communications between those apps. The Oracle Fusion middleware will also offer the scalability that is required to manage huge amounts of data the Trellis platform consolidates and analyses for data center visibility and control.

Officials with Emerson Network Power (News - Alert) exclaimed that data center operators must manage information needs that can change in an instant, but they’re often not able to predict how real-time changes to IT equipment might impact supporting infrastructure. Emerson is changing that with the Trellis platform by combining management of IT and infrastructure into a single, coordinated view. The selection of Oracle Fusion Middleware is stated to be a big step in the company’s efforts to make data center management more streamlined and efficient for customers.

The company added that the Trellis platform, which will be available early next year, will combine Emerson Network Power’s expertise in data center systems, software, and services with Oracle Application Integration Architecture and components.
