MicroStrategy Unveils New SaaS-based Business Intelligence Service

MicroStrategy (News - Alert), a global provider of business intelligence (BI) software, announced the public beta release of MicroStrategy Cloud Personal, a SaaS (News - Alert)-based business intelligence offering.

The public beta release enables anyone to upload data to the MicroStrategy Cloud and analyze it via rich visualizations instantly. Users can share insights with colleagues or friends, company officials said.

MicroStrategy Cloud and MicroStrategy Visual Insight, and MicroStrategy Mobile are the backbone of MicroStrategy Cloud Personal.

Leveraging the MicroStrategy Cloud Personal, user can have analytical insight without specialized tools. It can replace legacy departmental and desktop BI applications.

“MicroStrategy Cloud Personal is a new visualization service that allows business users to upload, analyze, and share data in a matter of minutes, and is as easy to use as consumer-oriented photo sharing services,” said Sanju Bansal (News - Alert), chief operating officer, MicroStrategy, in a statement.

“MicroStrategy Cloud Personal is a great step forward in helping business people and individuals to quickly gain insight from data, and share rich visualizations with colleagues or friends with just a few clicks,” Bansal added.

The Gallery currently features more than 20 sample dashboards based on a variety of data sets, each of which was developed in under 30 minutes.

As part of its promotion plans, starting in October, MicroStrategy will award a free Nespresso machine each month to the MicroStrategy Cloud Personal user who submits the best visualization to the MicroStrategy Cloud Gallery.

Recently, MicroStrategy announced the launch of Emma, a free Facebook (News - Alert) application that offers a friendly and safe mobile marketplace. Emma enhances the concept of free classifieds. It attaches Facebook credentials to classified listings so both parties can more thoroughly know about each other when buying or selling merchandise and services in a simple-to-use, person-to-person marketplace.
