StillSecure Unveils Cloud Security Monitoring Service

StillSecure (News - Alert), a managed network security solutions and certified compliance company, unveiled its new cloud security solution – Cloud Security Monitoring Service (Cloud SMS). The solution can be procured for free from StillSecure and through SoftLayer's (News - Alert) Technology Partners Marketplace portal and is designed for cloud infrastructure users and providers.

According to StillSecure, the Cloud SMS is managed through an easy-to-use web-based interface and is designed for organizations leveraging infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and IaaS providers. It is fitted with new features that enable enterprises to take full advantage of the cloud. Cloud SMS will expand to include a series of premium solutions based on features and usage.

The company added that the solution is also available to cloud and hosting provider partners to offer to their customers via their internal customer portals. Consumers are demanding high security when they venture into the cloud space and they also want security solutions to keep up and present an equally approachable interface to a broad spectrum of users as they get used to provisioning cloud computing resources in minutes via easy-to-use graphical interfaces.

Officials with the company remarked that while everybody talks about cloud security, StillSecure is the only company that is delivering a viable solution aimed at protecting cloud instances for end users and through partners. Cloud SMS is yet another innovation StillSecure is bringing to the market and is a critical component of its strategy to provide security solutions for service providers and their customers.

Some of the notable features of the Cloud SMS are: free SaaS (News - Alert) firewall manager for iptables/ip6tables on Linux; lightweight Linux agent: 5MB RAM, negligible CPU and disk used; clean, consistent, easy to use user interface; inbound and outbound firewall rule control; UI fully driven by JSON API; and more.

SoftLayer acknowledged that the StillSecure Cloud SMS solution brings tremendous value to its customers looking to quickly and easily secure their environments. This offering will help play a critical role in customers’ over-arching dedicated and cloud security strategy.

In other news, SoftLayer Technologies recently announced the release of its Mobile app for Windows Phone (News - Alert) 7 and Mobile HD app for iPad.SoftLayer said that the new apps have been designed for the Windows Phone 7 environment and iPad's screen size, giving customers easy mobile access to server and account management tools.
