@Link Services Opens New Cyber Community Center in Ponca City under USDA Program

@Link Services announced the unveiling of its new public @Link Cyber Community Center on the Kildare School Campus near Ponca City, Oklahoma on September 22nd, 2011.

According to company sources this new @Link Cyber Community Center will be offering free high-speed Internet service besides setting up 10 computer stations and proctors for introducing new users to the World Wide Web.

The new @Link Cyber Community Center was made possible by the Community Connect grant from USDA Rural Utilities Service Telecommunications Program. @Link Services, LLC was selected to receive the grant in order to create and manage the center and provide high speed Internet services to Kildare, Oklahoma.

In a release, Ryan McMullen, state director of USDA Rural Development said, “Access to high speed internet has become a necessity for rural residents and communities that want to compete in today’s economy. These type of investments help level the playing field for rural Oklahoma.”

The USDA Rural Development Community Connect Program serves rural communities where broadband service has not penetrated much but where there is a potential to improve facilities for citizens. Such projects funded by these grants are expected to help residents benefit from the multifarious features of the Internet.

Besides the new computers and broadband Internet connection, visitors will also benefit from access to printers and a trained staff of employees who can help first time users in the use of the computers. @Link Services also plans to offer free, weekly computer training courses to the public, said officials.

@Link Services is expected to start providing fixed wireless Internet services to homes and businesses in the area besides providing WiFi (News - Alert) service to Kildare School and the Kildare Volunteer Fire Department.

Samual Curtis, president of @Link Services stated, “Like the USDA Community Connect program, @Link WiFi is dedicated to elevating the educational, fiscal and social opportunities in rural communities by enabling high-speed Internet access. We are thrilled that Kildare was chosen as a grant recipient and will benefit from the availability of free computer workstations and high speed internet access.”

Recently @Link Services opened a new @Link Cyber Community Center with free high-speed internet service in Shamrock, Oklahoma. The computer and community center building located at 101 East 5th Street in Shamrock, Oklahoma, near Drumright, was the City Hall for the former City of Shamrock.
