SkillSoft Releases Books24x7's 'What's Popular' Titles for Second Quarter

SkillSoft, a provider of online learning and e-learning solutions to organizations all over the world, recently introduced its list of Books24x7 "What's Popular" titles from the second quarter of 2011.

The list reveals the leading reading trends for business and IT executives and professionals. SkillSoft analyzes the 100 most popular book titles for the past quarter in order to arrive at the reading trends for the subsequent quarter.

John Ambrose, senior vice president, strategy, corporate development and emerging business, SkillSoft, noted that the list was an interesting mix of business, and IT related topics.

“This mix of most popular titles highlights the variety of collections and titles offered by Books24x7 and the large number of subscribers across a wide range of disciplines and job titles,” he said.

In addition to allowing access to more than 29,000 digitized IT and business books, SkillSoft's Books24x7 product offering includes on-demand, instant access to the complete text of thousands of best-in-class books, book summaries, research reports and best practices.

Books24x7 "What's Popular" titles appeared to be dominated by professional and career development books , which captured 23 of the top 100 positions overall. Project management, business analytics and leadership management titles followed behind.

Business-related titles regarding best business practices and communication figured in the top 10 positions in the business book summaries category. Cloud related and IT related analyst reports were very popular.

Java and Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Excel dominated the What's Popular list of IT-related titles in the second quarter with popular certifications in great demand. iPad -related titles dropped a notch from the previous quarter but along with Android (News - Alert) and iPhone related titles still figured in the top 10.

In related news, SkillSoft announced a new courseware series created to help young professionals make the transition from college and universities to the corporate world.
