SugarSync Releases Updated Versions of SugarSync for iOS and Android Apps

SugarSync, a provider of personal cloud services announced that it has updated its SugarSync for iOS and SugarSync for Android (News - Alert) apps. The move is aimed at making the apps more user-friendly.

In a press release, SugarSync said that the updated SugarSync for iOS and SugarSync for Android apps are the latest in SugarSync's line of mobile apps, which cover 95 percent of all mobile devices in the world including iPhone (News - Alert), iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian devices.

The newly updated versions of these apps incorporate many new features such as a built-in simple text editor and new functionality for increased productivity in the iOS app, as well as the introduction of mobile device management capabilities for Android devices. The updated apps make it even easier for users to backup, access, sync and share all of their files and data to and from their iOS and Android phones and tablets.

With the built-in Simple Text Editor, users are no longer required to purchase a third-party text editing app in order to create or make changes to simple text files on-the-go. The updated apps also make file-syncing easier. In their updated version, the apps come with a new menu bar that lets users quickly sort files, upload photos and videos, and even create new folders or text files on any computer or shared folder. Any folder can easily be sorted to make it easier to find on any of the computer or device.

“SugarSync has always supported the most mobile devices in the industry, but we're constantly striving to enhance the mobile cloud experience. With our updated SugarSync for iOS app, you can now create and edit plain text files directly from the app, as well as take advantage of several new productivity improvements we've added. With the update to our Android app, we have added mobile device management for Android devices. With SugarSync, you can now be as productive from your mobile device as you are from your laptop,” CEO of SugarSync. Laura Yecies noted in a statement.

Just like all SugarSync mobile apps, SugarSync for iOS and SugarSync for Android apps are free to download. SugarSync for iOS is available for download from SugarSync's site or from the App Store, while SugarSync for Android is available for download from SugarSync's site or from the Android Market.

SugarSync also announced in the release that it is offering a free, 5GB version of the full service, with paid plans starting at 30 GB for $4.99/month or $50/year.

In order to enable users to more easily backup, access, sync and share all of their files and data on their BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices SugarSync recently updated its free to download SugarSync for BlackBerry’s last month.
