LitePoint Enters into License Agreement with Qualcomm

LitePoint, a provider of wireless test solutions, has entered into a licensing agreement with Qualcomm (News - Alert) Incorporated for Qualcomm's factory test solutions.

Thanks to this license, LitePoint will now have the ability to provide factory test solutions for cellular and connectivity standards such as LTE (News - Alert), CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, Bluetooth and WLAN to develop and offer manufacturing turnkey test solutions for Qualcomm's chipset licensees.

"This new relationship allows LitePoint to offer manufacturing test solutions that are optimized specifically for Qualcomm radio frequency chipsets," said Dr. Benny Madsen, CEO LitePoint, in a statement.

LitePoint Corporation (News - Alert), which is based in Sunnyvale, California, designs, develops, and supports advanced wireless test solutions for developers of wireless devices and consumer electronics, contract manufacturers, and wireless integrated circuit designers.

TMCnet recently reported that Teradyne (News - Alert), Inc., a leading supplier of Automatic Test Equipment, has signed an agreement to acquire LitePoint Corporation for $510 million net of LitePoint cash and tax benefits plus $70 million if certain performance targets are met extending through 2012.

Teradyne’s acquisition of LitePoint is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2011 subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The deal has already been approved by Board of Directors of both companies.

The company recently announced a collaboration agreement with setcom (News - Alert) wireless products GmbH. The alliance enabled the combination of LitePoint's software and instrument expertise with setcom's signaling, IMS, multi-media and application layer expertise, providing customers with complete test solutions from the physical interface and modem signaling through to IMS-based services and the applications layer interface.

This enabled product designers to fully verify all aspects of their products ensuring the best user experience for their customers.
