New Plug-In to Integrate Tools in Red Gate Deployment Suite for Oracle with PL/SQL Developer

In an effort to provide fast and accurate Oracle (News - Alert) database deployment, Allround Automations – a provider of Oracle development tools – has unveiled a free plug-in that directly connects its PL/SQL Developer Integrated Development Environment (IDE) with Red Gate Software’s Oracle database deployment tools.

Available for free download currently, the new plug-in from Allround Automations provides direct access to Red Gate’s Deployment Suite for Oracle from within PL/SQL Developer. It provides a better way to deploy database changes and integrates the tools in the Red Gate Deployment Suite for Oracle with PL/SQL Developer.

The PL/SQL Developer from Allround (News - Alert) Automations is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tailor-made for the development of stored program units for Oracle Databases. Some of the key features of the PL/SQL Developer include PL/SQL Editor, integrated debugger, PL/SQL Beautifier, SQL Window, and more.

Red Gate’s Deployment Suite for Oracle, which can be connected with the PL/SQL Developer via the new plug-in, consists of essential tools for comparing and deploying Oracle database changes. It helps in eliminating mistakes while deploying Oracle database changes from dev, to test, to production.

Designed to significantly improve the comparison and deployment of Oracle databases across development, testing and production environments, Red Gate’s Deployment Suite for Oracle not only troubleshoots and fixes errors caused by differences in Oracle database schemas and data, but also generates SQL scripts to migrate table contents from one database to another.

“The Red Gate Deployment Plug-In makes it simple for our users to launch Red Gate’s tools directly from their familiar PL/SQL Developer environment,” said Hans Kalter, chief technology officer for Allround Automations, in a statement. “From there, it’s quick and easy to compare and deploy your Oracle databases across development, testing and production environments.”

“Allround Automations customers will find that Red Gate’s tools for deploying database changes are a good fit with PL/SQL Developer,” said Tom Harris, product manager for Oracle tools at Red Gate, in a statement. “Both sets of tools are simple, but intelligent, provide great value, and come from companies that really care about their customers.”

In recent news, Red Gate bought “SQL in the City” to Los Angeles. SQL in the City is a full day of learning and networking that includes technical presentations from SQL Server MVPs, case studies, panel discussions, feedback sessions and socializing. At the event, participants had the opportunity to learn more about Red Gate tools and influence their future development.
