Vordel Executives to Present on Cloud Security and Integration for the Enterprise

Vordel, a provider of gateways for SOA and cloud computing will deliver presentations on Cloud Security and Integration for the Enterprise at Oracle (News - Alert) Open World, which will take place in October 2011.

Vordel specializes in the delivery of fast, safe, connectivity for SOA and cloud services. The company’s gateway provides integration, security, governance, and acceleration for enterprise applications and cloud-based services. Vordel Gateway (News - Alert) helps Fortune 500 enterprises and government agencies benefit greatly from cloud- based services and mobile computing, according to a release.

The company’s CTO, Mark O’Neill will be highlighting how there is a vast difference between SaaS (such as Google (News - Alert) Apps), PaaS (such as Amazon’s S3 storage as a service), and IaaS (such as Teramark and vCloud) environments.

Ed King, VP of product marketing will explain how enterprises can leverage their existing Oracle applications to take advantage of new cloud, mobile, and Web 2.0 initiatives. The presentations are designed to allow attendees to benefit from Vordel’s (News - Alert) advice on best practices concerning implementation of cloud and mobile security and integration strategies.

According to officials, Mark O’ Neill’s presentation entitled “Cloud Security Case Studies of SaaS (News - Alert), PaaS, and IaaS” will examine three different cloud deployments: SaaS at an education provider, PaaS at a retailer and IaaS at a pharmaceuticals company. The presentation is expected to throw light on the security considerations and what security policies are to be used in each scenario.

In addition, the explanations will examine the performance considerations and indicate how a gateway applies to cloud security for SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. This presentation is scheduled to take place on October 2nd at Moscone West.

King will be presenting on the topic of “Bringing your Oracle Unlimited Apps to the Cloud and Mobile Age”. He will examine how cloud, mobile, and Web 2.0 initiatives will need greater amounts of internal application data and functions to support cross domain integrations.

He will also explain about how gateways can be used to manage and control access to Oracle Applications data via smartphones, desktops and across public, private and hybrid clouds. This presentation will take place on 3rd October.

Recently, Vordel announced at VMworld 2011 that its Vordel Gateway product will provide a single point of control for single-sign on access across hybrid cloud infrastructures managed by the VMware vCloud Director 1.5.
