rPath Demonstrates New Automation Engine

As the app world grows larger and larger, application delivery needs to be more consistent, reliable and fast in the cloud ecosystem. rPath, the application engine provider, demonstrated its ability to ensure this with its new rPath Cloud Engine that was showcased at VMworld 2011 in Las Vegas.

Commenting on the rPath cloud engine, Brett Adam, CTO of rPath said that the new automation engine would eliminate the risk of erroneous updates and costly service bottlenecks that were inherent in the manual deployment of apps.

Built on the proven rPath X6 platform, the new cloud application engine adopts an automated approach to application delivery that seamlessly fits into any cloud technology system. Thus cloud providers, buyers and builders are well positioned to automate the process of application management in a simple and easy manner.

The show in Las Vegas demonstrated the ability of the rPath Cloud Engine's powerful application automation that integrated easily with a Cisco (News - Alert)-based cloud automation stack and showed how it provided end-to-end application management.

Cisco’s Rodrigo Flores, technical architect in the IAS group also presented a series of lightning talks that addressed the “Seven Deadly Sins” of cloud application management.

rPath works with partners to embed rPath Cloud Engine into private cloud stacks from cloud technology vendors as well as into private and hybrid cloud offerings from service providers. It was named as a Cool Vendor by Gartner (News - Alert) in April 2011.

In other news, TMCnet reported that rPath announced the launch of its OpenStack Compute Appliance, designed to enable IT organizations to deploy and upgrade their OpenStack software faster and easier than ever before.
