SAP Certifies Psion's Omnii XT10 for Integration with SAP NetWeaver Mobile

Psion, provider of mobile computing solutions, announced that SAP (News - Alert) has certified its Omnii XT10 device for Windows CE for integration with the SAP NetWeaver Mobile component 7.1. Partners and customers of the company who leverage the new SAP NetWeaver Mobile integrated solutions have been provided with benefits such as reduction in time required for implementation, faster return on investment (ROI) and improved technical capabilities.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) certified that Psion's Omnii XT10 for Windows CE devices has been integrated with SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 through its NetWeaver mobile device certification (NW-MOB-DEV) 7.0 and 7.1 integration standards.

CIBER (News - Alert), Inc., SAP channel and services partner, was the first reseller to deploy SAP software on Psion’s Omnii XT10. The company employed ITSMobile (Internet Transaction Server), along with SAP Warehouse Management (SAP WM) applications. The company additionally implemented the complete range of WLAN and network security suite and extensive consulting and implementation services for SAP WM.

In a release, Chris Tordi, information technology manager at CIBER said that, “Many of our clients use SAP technology in their warehouses, so they require mobile computers that are not only compatible with the latest SAP software, but offer high performance and durability. Omnii XT10’s specifications, specifically its response time and long battery life, significantly outperformed other handheld devices, making it an ideal rugged handheld for the warehouse setting.”

APP Pharmaceuticals, developer and marketer of injectable pharmaceutical products, successfully deployed SAP WM by leveraging and combining Psion’s Omnii XT10 with ITSMobile via latest browser-based technologies.

Psion created the Omnii XT10 device on Omnii, its high performance modular mobile computing platform after taking in extensive user and customer feedback. Utilizing the new Omnii platform, the resellers and developer partners of Psion, can help with the development and creation of a comprehensive suite of adaptable solutions for the industry.

Guy Franck Nakach, vice president of Worldwide Channel Sales at Psion said that, “Psion developed the Omnii XT10 with our customers and partners to make it the most adaptable, rugged handheld device on the market today, and we know from the feedback we receive on our online community that integration with SAP applications is critical for them. Working with partners such as CIBER on the implementation of SAP software not only helps them to meet the specific needs of their customers, it benefits the Psion community as a whole.”
