Stonesoft, a provider of network security management, announced the launch of the StoneGate FW-315 firewall/VPN appliance with unified threat management (UTM) functionality.
The new StoneGate FW-315 firewall appliance manages security demands of small networks and branch offices.
Leveraging StoneGate FW-315, customers can receive reliable data security with high availability features, which guarantee network continuity.
The StoneGate FW-315 device enables enterprises to benefit from comprehensive protection with Unified Threat Management (UTM) features such as Web filtering, intrusion prevention for e-mail, HTTP, and VoIP, as well as anti-spam for SMTP e-mail and anti-virus scanning for e-mail and HTTP protocols, according to a press statement.
The new release is significant for the industry as computers at remote locations face more issues than those at company headquarters. This is due to a lack of IT expertise and security resources available to remote locations. The new FW-315 has been designed to meet these needs, offering remote offices high-level security and reliable network connections.
StoneGate FW-315 also features built-in firewall clustering and server load balancing. It has the ability to utilize reserve ISP capacity on overloaded Internet connections. With four interfaces, StoneGate FW-315 also enables small-scale network segmentation. Additionally, the appliance is available with an ADSL+2 interface.
Recently, Stonesoft announced that StoneGate network security solutions have received Common Event Format (CEF) Certification from Arcsight, an HP company and a provider of security and compliance management solutions. Stonesoft is one of the first security vendors worldwide to offer full support for CEF.
StoneGate Log Server can be configured to forward StoneGate FW/VPN, IPS and SSL VPN logs to Arcsight in CEF format. This simplifies the integration of StoneGate product family event logs with the Arcsight Enterprise Threat and Risk Management (ETRM) platform.
