Boston Red Sox Will Receive Next-Generation UC Solutions from Avaya

Avaya, a provider of business collaboration and communications solutions, has been selected as the exclusive provider of next generation Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) solutions to the Boston Red Sox.

The Boston Red Sox picked Avaya along with technology solutions designer Carousel Industries to implement new communication technologies that will help enhance business collaboration and improve fan experience. Carousel Industries, a Platinum-certified Avaya (News - Alert) Connect Channel Partner, will install, manage and maintain the UC solutions for the Red Sox.

With Avaya Flare Experience, Red Sox will get to offer multi-modal communications such as voice, video, email, IM, and Web interfaces in luxury sky boxes and for executives. Red Sox staff will get to work together more effectively, regardless of their physical locations through use of the Avaya Aura architecture and applications.

According to Avaya, offering extensive flexibility through its Android (News - Alert) operating system, the Avaya Flare Experience makes it easy for one’s business to create unique applications or to leverage third party offers. Dubbed as a breakthrough in enterprise collaboration, Flare Experience delivers context-sensitive mash-ups of chat, email, social network and video communications and helps users manage multiple collaboration session at once.

Avaya Aura is the core communications platform supporting unified communications and contact center solutions for midsize to large enterprises. It extends the Communication Manager and enables SIP-based session management with innovative capabilities, as well as simplifies complex networks and reduces infrastructure costs. Workers at any location can be connected regardless of the infrastructure the endpoints reside on.

The Boston Red Sox asserted that these new collaboration tools would help it improve the fan experience and customer service by allowing its team – regardless of where they are – to communicate more easily and efficiently, all while reducing costs by eliminating expensive conference calling and toll charges.

Officials with Avaya revealed that as with any industry, meeting today's business collaboration challenges requires a fundamentally new approach to how you communicate. They look forward to working with The Red Sox to deliver advanced capabilities to help communications to be carried out more easily, efficiently and productively, while also positioning Red Sox to deliver new fan amenities.
